About the Artist

I have been a United Methodist pastor for the past 25 years.  My life values and purpose are deeply rooted in my Christian faith. Whatever I do, I desire to love God through Jesus and others.  I fell in love with art in elementary school. I won several prizes from competitions and was awarded as the best art student in both Jr, High, and Sr. High. Finally, I was accepted to a prestigious art college in Canada called “Ontario College of Art.”   However, during my first in college, I sensed God’s calling to pursue ministry after a personal encounter with Christ.  I switched my life course since then.

As I have been serving many years in church ministry, I have struggled with how to reconcile faith and art.  In recent years, I have grown a greater appreciation and passion for art which is given by God for His glory. 

Therefore, I serve God in church ministry but at the same time, I also try to serve God by being creative.  God is the greatest artist since he is the Creator who created this world and beyond with beauty and wonder.  I believe God is delighted in those who imitate God by being creative.

1.     My artworks display God’s created world both the beauty and reality of suffering.    

2.     My artworks also specifically display Christian faith centered on Jesus Christ. My paintings are my personal testimony of how I found hope, joy, peace, and love through Christ in midst of suffering and chaos.
